Grant Overview

Required Outcomes with Benchmarks

The Georgetown scholarship program aims to cultivate a new generation of civic leaders by effectively connecting education and public service engagement. A critical outcome required from recipients is the development and implementation of community-based projects that reflect their commitment to civic engagement. Success will be measured by the number of projects initiated and completed, alongside direct community impact, such as increased participation in local governance or social initiatives. Benchmarks will include at least 75% of scholarship recipients completing a project that positively affects their community within twelve months of their graduation.

Essential KPIs to Track

To effectively evaluate the impact of the scholarship on both individual recipients and the broader community, several specific Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) must be tracked:

  1. Projects Developed: The number of community service projects initiated by scholarship recipients.
  2. Community Engagement Rate: The percentage of the community involved in or benefiting from these projects.
  3. Post-Graduation Participation: Tracking the percentage of scholarship recipients who continue engaging in civic activities post-graduation.
  4. Feedback and Evaluation Forms: Collecting qualitative feedback from community members who participated in or benefited from the projects.
  5. Leadership Development Metrics: Assessing the development of leadership skills among recipients through longitudinal studies or surveys conducted at multiple intervals after graduation.

Evaluation and Reporting Requirements

Recipients of the scholarship must submit periodic reports detailing their project progress and the outcomes achieved. Initial reports are required three months post-funding, followed by semi-annual updates. These reports should highlight data on project activities, community involvement, and any notable impacts, supported by quantitative metrics and qualitative testimonials. The ultimate evaluation will occur at the one-year mark after the project's conclusion, where recipients will submit a final report encompassing lessons learned and overall community impact.

Setting Performance Thresholds

To ensure accountability and support for future cohorts, performance thresholds will be established. If more than 25% of recipients fail to meet project completion benchmarks or show minimal community involvement, program evaluators will analyze the underlying causes and adjust funding strategies or support mechanisms accordingly. Recipients demonstrating extraordinary community engagement, defined as exceeding initial project goals or significantly enhancing local participation in civic matters, may be awarded additional funding opportunities for future initiatives.
